About Me

I am a graduate of the University of California, San Diego with a bachelor's degree in computer science. I have been developing websites for about 10 years. What started as a simple curiosity about the potential of a programming language, has grown not only to become my career, but also my passion. I have dedicated myself to this line of work and I constantly strive to keep up with the changing technology.

I began learning about web development on my own from library books and online tutorials. The very first websites I built were for myself as a way of placing into practice what I had learned. In order to improve my abilities I took a course in web development that my high school offered. This class provided me the with opportunity to build more websites and gain much needed experience. I proceeded to build websites for high school clubs where I was a member. Before my high school graduation, a few teachers had hired me to build websites for them. That marked the beginning of my career, and those high school teachers had become my very first clients.

During college, I took more courses that further improved my knowledge about web development. I learned a lot about topics that I had never heard of before. I learned about usability, maintainability, and following good design and coding practices. Professor and author Thomas A. Powell was one of the professors that taught me many things that I now use on a day to day basis in my work. He taught me that a great website is not necessarily one that has the flashy bells and whistles, but rather one that serves its purpose.

Before I graduated college, I started a web development business with a friend that ran for about a year before we shut it down. Today, I find that I'm working for myself again. Actually, I work for my clients because without them I wouldn't have the extensive experience that I have now. My clients provide me with the challenges and I always step up to meet their expectations and provide them with a website that they are not only pleased to have, but also helps their business grow.
